Dear colleagues,

It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the Third Congress of the Serbian Association of Endoscopic Surgery (SAES), which will be held from April 19 – 21, 2023 in Belgrade, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel under the auspices of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES).

Since its establishment, the SAES have been dedicated to improving the quality of patient treatment in our country by following modern trends in the field of gastrointestinal, endoscopic and other minimally invasive surgical procedures. All previous congresses, symposiums and courses organized by the Association contributed to the accelerated development of minimally invasive surgery in Serbia and made it available to an increasing number of patients.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic has limited the application of minimally invasive surgery, various studies and experiences presented by the centers around the world have shown that its application is possible and safe even in such conditions. In addition, the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly limited the communication and exchange of experiences among surgeons working in this field.

The theme of the Third Congress: Minimally invasive surgery – where laparoscopy meets robotic surgery, shows the intention of the Association to present the latest technological achievements in the field of minimally invasive surgery through scientific and poster sessions, symposia and courses. As it was in the previous congresses, minimally invasive surgeons of various specialties, including abdominal, thoracic and pediatric surgeons, will have the opportunity to present their results in parallel sessions. The lectures of the eminent international experts will provide us with an extraordinary opportunity to enrich our knowledge with the most up-to-date information.
